The Power of Truth

The Power of Truth

Do you recognize the gravity of honesty? The powerful depth of Truth? The reality that when something fully true is shared, change occurs. Something shifts, questions are asked, and an impact is made whether it’s big or small.

So often in our society, it’s so easy for us to not share that full truth. We water words down, we cushion our words with niceties and fight for instant gratification in our conversations so that we can walk away with a peaceful heart. But can’t you see the issue with this? Can’t you see why this has to change?

When our peace is rooted in our comfort of the world in the everyday, holiness cannot occur.

Because our peace cannot be rooted in comfort in this world. Our peace must be rooted in Christ, rooted in Truth, rooted in the Catholic Church.

This is easier said than done though.

It’s easy to say that we are rooted in the Catholic Church, until one of those challenging conversations comes up and you don’t know how to go about it. The kind of conversation where you just freeze and say whatever needs to be said to get through the discomfort.

But this lukewarm way of living is called relativism, and it’s time to cut that out.

What is relativism?

To put it in simple terms, Stanford University defined relativism as this,

“Relativism, roughly put, is the view that truth and falsity, right and wrong, standards of reasoning, and procedures of justification are products of differing conventions and frameworks of assessment and that their authority is confined to the context giving rise to them.”

In other words, no one is wrong, there is no truth, everyone’s opinions can and should be accepted as correct, and there is no need to be bothered by someone else’s perspective because they are just as correct as you are.

Relativism is the way of our culture nowadays. There are a lot of phrases floating around like, “you do you” or, “I would never do that, but you go right ahead” or “live your truth.”

Instead of being bothered, communicating with love and the desire to bring hearts back to the Sacred Heart of Jesus we are remaining quiet and not wanting to cause a fuss. I beg you to have a shift of heart and remember what we were created for… Heaven.

We were made for Heaven. Each and every human you ever meet, was designed to be in union with Christ, for eternity in Heaven. Do you believe it?

So how can we change? How can we start living like we were made for Heaven and bring others to the fullness of this Truth along the way?

  1. Prayer– this is all impossible without consistent prayer. We must have an intimate relationship with Jesus to be able to show others His Love.
  2. Mass– are you regularly going to Sunday Mass? Could you incorporate Daily Mass into your weekly schedule? Even if it’s just one or two times a week? Having Christ’s Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity run through our bodies gives us the strength we need in this world.
  3. Confession– We need this so crucially. Get Satan out of here and come back to the Lord regularly in the Sacrament of Confession.
  4. The Rosary– Our ultimate weapon. Praying the rosary regularly and asking Mary to help you every day is the Motherly support we need coming straight from Heaven.
  5. Community– We can’t go about this mission alone. We have to lean on our friends and family for help when hardships arise and when the mission feels too big to tackle.

You can be a soldier for the Kingdom of Heaven. You can speak the Truth daily. You can help Heaven grow in numbers. You are not alone, Jesus is with you in every situation, every day.

Let’s go spread Truth.
